Once again HILDE JEEP SAFARI gives the unique opportunity to discover Troodos mountains off the beaten track .Our long wheelbase 4 x 4 Land Rovers are the only vehicles, which will allow you to enjoy Troodos, as it should be.After pick up from hotels we leave pafos behind us heading towards the Asprogremmos Dam the largest resevoir in Pafos and then our second stop is at the famous Turkish village of Mamonia for coffee. Our next stop is at the Venetian bridge. A trip to Troodos would be incomplete without a visit to the world famous Monastery of Kykkos. Built in the 11th century, three times destroyed by fire, the golden painted doors invite you to admire the colorful frescoes and the holy icon of the Virgin Mary painted by St. Luke as well as its small museum. We have lunch in one of the small mountain villages called Pedoulas enroute to Mount Olympus the highest peak of the Troodos mountains the scenery is breathtaking. From the top you can catch a glimpse of the whole island and the occupied territories of Morphou and the Pendadactylos mountains. As we enter the forest our next stop is at the Caledonian Falls. Lost among the luxurious vegetation, the water cascades down from the mountains. a positively charming part of the Troodos mountains accessible only by Land rover. We return to Pafos stopping at the picturesque village of Omodos. Our last stop is the Birthplace of Aphrodite then back to Pafos. |
