The villa has been handed down from generation to generation within the
same family from mother to daughter. In the courtyard Theopisti
boasts an eighty year old vine tree. Restoration
of the house was begun under the aegis of the Laona Project and the
Akamas Plan. Many
of the restored houses in Cyprus that are now part of the islands
agro-tourism industry were restored with the help of these programs. In
the village there is a church dating back to the 5th Century and in Kato
Akourdalia there is also a 5th Century church and a museum of Folk
Art.
